Tulsa Mural

Section of the Lacy Park Mural by Felix Cole

Felix Cole may not be a household name just yet, but he is well on his way.  Mr. Cole is an artist and he depicted 114 figures in a mural painting inside North Tulsa’s Lacy Park Community Center.  Felix says that the figures he painted represent “perseverance through tragedy and triumph.”

And now, Shayna and Aaron Acosta are taking the “Lacy Mural” to a whole new plateau.  They are the founders of Lacy Park’s hip hop dance group, Urban Movement.  On August 7th at 7pm inside the Tulsa Performing Arts Center, they will celebrate Cole’s depiction of North Tulsa‘s historic and cultural icons, by bringing his mural to life with this sensational dance premiere.

These events will be part of TulsaFest, a collection of local music & the arts.  Urban Movement’s dance will be sponsored by the Oklahoma All-Black Towns Foundation.  The goal of TulsaFest is to raise money for the local parks, so be sure to purchase your ticket and come support Tulsa!
